Rex Vernon's Classroom

Welcome to the Second Grade classroom at Michigan School for the Deaf!

A

I would first like to take a moment to welcome you to our webpage. You will be able to find plenty of valuable information here. My name is Rex Vernon and I am the Second Grade teacher here at the Michigan School for the Deaf. As a teacher I strive for my students to be able to achieve three fundamental things. I want students to first and foremost become proficient in both American Sign Language and English. With a strong foundation in language they will fully be able to succeed both inside and outside of the classroom. I want to make students learning both meaningful and purposeful, showing students that we are learning more than just facts. We are learning for our future. Finally, I hope to establish a strong foundation for lifelong learning. I want students to leave my classroom with a passion for learning, and for them to continue to love to learn forever.
