From time to time I find web pages that I think teacher's may want students to use on the classroom computer. I'm listing them here so that parents too can use them with their children at hom. | Name of Site | Location | Description | | National Institutes of Health Science Education | http://science.education.nih.gov/ | Most people go bird watching (I like that too), but I go web watching. Here’s a site for those of you who teach science. It is loaded with a large collection of lesson plans and resources specifically intended for teachers in grades K-12. I’ll be sending along some other sites as the weeks progress that you might want to use in your lessons, or have your students use for their assignments. | | Michigan Capitol Tour | http://www.michiganepic.org/capitol/ | Here’s a cool website to help prepare students for how the Capitol looks before they go to visit. It’s a 360° virtual tour. There’s a little introduction from “Jack”, but after he’s through, just follow the “arrows” that appear on the screen to get into the Rotunda. You can move your mouse from side to side and it’s like you are standing in the middle so you can “turn around” and see everything. If you move downstairs you’ll see the flag gallery, and if you move your mouse up to the top of the screen you can see the Dome. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |
